Stunning self-catering holiday beachfront accommodation in Zinkwazi Beach on the North Coast of KZN, South Africa
This award-winning beachfront home is built in an indigenous milkwood forest overlooking the pristine beach. There are uninterrupted views from all 3 floors, of the Indian Ocean and beach on one side of the house and below and inland the lush coastal dune forest. The house is built amongst the trees. A short walk through the forest leads onto an unspoiled beach in front of the house.
Your first view of the Zinkwazi beach house is undoubtedly breath taking. The glass structure appears to be suspended in the trees!
Another surprise lies in store as you make your way towards the house on a wooden boardwalk above the forest. The expanse of blue beyond – on the opposite side of the house – is the sparkling Indian Ocean, which you see through the full width of the mezzanine living area.
Guests have access to the entire three floors of the house. The ground floor comprises the open plan living area and kitchen with glass stack door which open to , with wide decks the length of the house open open the entire living area to both the wide front and back deck the full length of the house. The sheltered back deck off the dining and kitchen is where guests barbeque.
On the upper floor are two ensuite bedrooms with queen size beds. Between the bedrooms, on the landing, is a spacious lounge with work station. A delight to children is the slatted ‘cage’ with a hammock suspended over the sheltered forest.
From the mezzanine living area a staircase down to the lower level opens to the spacious playroom with table tennis table, games and work space. Two en-suite bedrooms with single beds are on either side. Bedrooms on the lower floor open onto a deck the full length of the house overlooking the sea. A staircase from the playroom leads down to the boardwalk which passes through indigenous forest to the beach.
Please be aware that the charm of Zinkwazi beach is its remote location and peaceful atmosphere. We do not have any shopping of the conventional type. A small convenience shop is situated on the corner of Glen and Nkwazi drive and offers essentials for your stay. The Local – a farmers home industry at 37 Nkwazi has some fresh home produce and worth calling on. A tea garden serving delicious breakfast and budget lunches is on the same premise as the Zinkwazi Cafe. The Zinkwazi Ski Boat club at the main beach is open from Wednesday to Sunday and serves drinks and excellent food. You will find the staff friendly and helpful.
